Steam Inventory API Changes: SteamWebAPI Is Fully Operational Again
Steam changed its inventory systems. SteamWebAPI has restored its Inventory API for existing customers while new purchases remain temporarily paused.
Steam recently introduced several changes affecting inventory data and Steam inventory endpoints. These changes temporarily caused issues with inventory requests and required adjustments to our infrastructure.
The SteamWebAPI team has already implemented the necessary fixes, and our Steam Inventory API is fully operational again for existing customers.
What Changed With the Steam Inventory API?
Steam regularly updates its internal systems, endpoints and request behavior. Some of these changes can affect third-party applications that rely on public Steam inventory data.
The latest update changed how inventory information can be requested and processed. As a result, several inventory-related requests temporarily stopped working as expected.
Our team immediately investigated the changes and updated the SteamWebAPI inventory infrastructure to restore normal functionality.
Is the Steam Inventory API Working Again?
Yes.
The SteamWebAPI Inventory API is currently working again for existing customers. Applications, marketplaces, inventory calculators and trading tools using our API can continue processing Steam inventory data.
We are continuing to monitor:
- Inventory response stability
- Request success rates
- Steam rate limits
- Processing and infrastructure requirements
- Temporary and permanent Steam-side restrictions
Monitoring these areas allows us to react quickly if Steam introduces additional changes.
New Inventory API Purchases Are Temporarily Paused
New purchases of the SteamWebAPI Inventory API are temporarily unavailable.
This is a precautionary measure while we analyze whether Steam’s latest changes are temporary or permanent. We want to ensure that the API remains stable and scalable before accepting additional inventory traffic.
Existing customers are not affected by this temporary purchase pause and can continue using their current Inventory API access.
New purchases will be reopened once we have enough information about the long-term impact of the changes.
Could Inventory API Pricing Change?
If Steam’s changes are temporary, we expect to reopen Inventory API purchases under the existing conditions.
However, if the changes remain permanent and require significantly more infrastructure, processing capacity or additional request handling, the price of the Inventory API may need to be adjusted.
Any potential pricing update would only be introduced after a detailed technical and operational review.
Our priority is to continue providing a reliable Steam Inventory API with stable response times and sufficient capacity for production applications.
Who Uses a Steam Inventory API?
A Steam Inventory API can be used for many different applications, including:
- Steam inventory value calculators
- CS2 inventory trackers
- Skin marketplaces
- Trading platforms
- Portfolio trackers
- Steam profile tools
- Item analytics platforms
- Price comparison websites
- Inventory management applications
Instead of maintaining complex Steam inventory request systems internally, developers can use SteamWebAPI to retrieve structured inventory information through a developer-friendly API.
Continued Monitoring and Updates
Steam-side changes can happen without advance notice and may affect public inventory data, inspect links, item information or request limits.
We are closely monitoring the current situation and will continue adjusting our systems whenever necessary.
Another update will be published once we can confirm whether Steam’s latest Inventory API changes are temporary or permanent.
Steam Inventory API by SteamWebAPI
SteamWebAPI provides developers with access to Steam profiles, inventories, items, prices, float data, assets and marketplace information.
The platform is designed for developers building Steam and CS2 applications that require reliable and structured data.
Existing Inventory API customers can continue using the service normally.
New Inventory API purchases will become available again after the current monitoring period.
